The soft of FLUENT is used to analyze the flow field of main nozzle of air jet loom for weft insertion, and such method can save manpower, material resources and time, which, is needed whether in the experiment or in produce. It is also more helpful to direct the design of main nozzle to a some extent.Chapter one, the course of weft insertion of main nozzle, the structure of main nozzle, the characteristic of airflow used by weft insertion and the significance of its research are discussed.Chapter two, the principle of hydrokinetics is used to establish the numerical model of flow field in weft insertion of main nozzle of air jet looms, and the geometrical model of weft insertion of main nozzle is established base on GAMBIT, which, is used as a pre-processor of FLUENT.Chapter three, the FLUENT is used to simulate the geometrical model which is established by GAMBIT. Compared the simulating results with the test results, the feasibility of this method which uses FLUENT to simulate the flow field in weft insertion of main nozzle of air jet loom is validated.Chapter four, the FLUENT is used to simulate the flow field of weft insertion by the change of parameters such as diameters, throat sectional areas and acceleration tube lengths of main nozzle and supply air pressures. The advantage of different combination of structure of main nozzle and supply air pressure is presented.
