In this dissertation, numerical simulation processed by Fluent is carried out based onthe model of the airflow field of weft insertion produced by main nozzle and the velocityof the airflow field at different positions is also obtained. The velocity of the airflow fieldat selected positions is experimentally measured on the platform, and they are in goodagreement, which could prove that the numerical simulation executed by the computationalfluid dynamics software is feasible.Through the numerical simulation for the airflow field of weft insertion with profiledreed, it shows that the influence of reed gap on the airflow field could be ignored. Thus themodel of the airflow field of weft insertion could be simplified to improve the efficiency.Additionally, the effect of the profiled reed towards the airflow field is analyzed based onit, and it is indicated that airflow velocity declines slowly with smaller fluctuation, stayinghigher speed with better cluster resistance so that the weft could be led to the position ofthe first auxiliary nozzle.The numerical simulation is performed based on different weft insertion flow fieldwhen main nozzle and profiled reed are in different relative positions. Consequently, it isindicated that the airflow condition where the main nozzle is close to the profiled reed isbetter than that where the main nozzle is far away from the profiled reed, and the formerwill facilitate the stability of weft insertion at a high speed.The research methods and the research results of this dissertation could give somereference to the follow-up research, and the conclusion would have certain guidingsignificance to the production practice.
