The effect of EPC coating on casting property of EPC was important.This text depended on the massive experiments was a foundation.The influence of the addition of alumina,200 mesh quartz powder,CMC,white emulsion,Na-based bentonite,op-10,t-he normal butyl alcohol of the Development of the Dipping Water Based Coating for the Steel Castings of EPC and respective function mechanism was investigated.By the single factor experiments and using L9(34)orthogonal experiment,the optimization has determined the suitablely addition of CMC,white emulsion,Na-based bentonite,op-10,the normal butyl alcohol,alumina,200 mesh quartz powder and proper quantities of the coating.A simple discussion has carried on permeability of the coating.The puring test proves that the surface quality and internal compactnesses of the castings using the investigated coating have been improved,and the casting can meet the demand of the production.By means of the scanning electron microscope,it is considered that the permeability of the EPC coating increase obviously under the high temperature with the increase of the temperature owing to the vaporation of CMC and white emulsion,and the contraction of the Na-based bentonite.The test results indicate that the EPC coating proportions are alumina 92-88 percent,200 mesh quartz powder 8-12 percent,Na-based bentonite 5-9 percent,CMC 0.2-0.5 percent,white emulsion 3-5 percent,op-10 1.5 per 1000(plus water),the normal butyl alcohol 0.2-0.6g per 100g(plus water),this time the coating has the fine overall performance and the high temperature permeability.
