With energy competition getting more and more heating, energy problem has become a bottleneck restricting to national economic growth, thus the energy-saving has been taken more seriously. In order to alleviate energy problem, heat insulation material and heat insulating coating were applied. Heat insulation material, especially heat insulation coating, is developed rapidly in recent years.The heat insulation coating has both features of coating and heat insulation material. It has several merits such as the low heat conduction modulus, preserving heat, simple process of construction and material production, thus it particularly suitable to solve the heat insulation difficulty on different types of equipment. Therefore, this technology is developed rapidly in our country. However, this coating has disadvantages such as a long curing time, high shrinkage rate, poor performance bond, the quality of instability, and so on.A new composite silicate coating of heat insulation, which mainly mixed with water and meerschaum, the swelling perlite and emulsion with a small amount of dispersant, thickener, binder and so on , has been prepared in order to solve the problems. The optimum compound silicate coating of heat insulation component was selected through orthogonal experiment, which has reached standards. The main component of coating effect on heat insulation property and cementation intensity has been also studied at the same time.The experimental results showed that lightweight and inorganic fiber have prominent effects on the coating heat conduction modulus, thus it plays a decisive role in heat insulation. Emulsion also plays a decisive role in the bond strength of coating and can greatly improve the corrosion resistance and quality of coating. Water and lightweight aggregate have significantly impact on volume shrinkage rate of coating. The temperature of drying and using also has some effects on thermal conductivity. Construction technology and the size of raw material were affected less on thermal conductivity.
