The Research And Development Of Small Stamping Die Cost Estimation System

As a kind of commodity, the cost of stamping die must be properly estimated through scientific methods. To solve the cost estimation, many methods were proposed by using modern computer technology and information management technology. The aims of the researches were to set up a series of methods to analyze and quote the cost of die.This paper's research target was to develop the cost estimation system for small stamping dies. Through analyzing many kinds of cost estimation methods and the composition of the die cost, the quote of manufacturing cost has been divided into three processes: design parts processing, calculate manufacturing hours and calculate the manufacturing cost. After the above processes, the detail quote method has been established by inputting the part's characters and die's structure.Case base have been established in order to fully utilize the quoted die projects which have been collected and classified. Three quick quoting methods have been proposed: method by customer information, method by case-based reasoning, method by die types. At the same time, the mainstream CAD software lightweight browsers have been integrated using ActiveX technology, so that the data model could be rapidly view and check when the parts be quoted and browsed in the results from case base.Stamping die cost estimation system has been developed based on the categorization of various related datum, the establishment of the corresponding database, the application of theories and research results. The system could reduce the workload of engineers, shorten time of estimation, increase the credibility and scientific of the quotation list, and it also has useful and practical value for other types of mold cost estimation system.
