Nowadays,the development of the municipal sewage treatment in China is greatly limited due to the low level of management and operation,scarcity of competent staff and poor performance of staff training.The efficient diagnosis and disposal of operational fault of municipal sewage treatment plant (MSTP) are so difficult that the problems of the long-term unsteadiness,bad performance,high cost and secondary pollution in MSTP become widespread.To change this situation, a novel and effective diagnostic expert system for diagnosing the course of sewage treatment and assisting MSTP in training staff is urgently desired.This work focuses on the MSTP using a traditional activated sludge way and its diagnostic expert system.Firstly,the expert system based on JRE, a new expert system development tool of Jess,is descried,as well as the fault diagnosis technology and the municipal sewage treatment theory and knowledge.After summarizing the influential factors,the characteristics of the faults in municipal sewage treatment and the research situation of diagnostic expert system in the world,a novel diagnostic expert system based on JRE for MSTP is proposed. Subsequently,the core modules including the diagnostic model,reasoning machine and knowledge representation are designed and realized.The diagnostic model adopting fault trees has a clear hierarchy and can be manipulated simply. The reasoning machine employs the match arithmetic of RETE of JRE,which helps the whole system separate the reasoning machine from the knowledge base.The knowledge representation makes full use of the object-oriented feature of an OAV (Object-Attribute-Value) Triple denotation, which is convenient for the improvement and modification of the rule base and facilitates the system to be modularized and constructed clearly.Meanwhile,the paper elaborates the construction of the whole system based on Internet with B/S (Browser/Server) architecture by using MySQL database development tool on the exploitation platform of J2SE.Moreover,the corresponding functions of the finished system are presented in practice by the favorable man-machine interface.In the end,the thesis summarizes the whole research work and points out that the aspects of the diagnostic expert system based on JRE for the MSTP need to be further improved.The tendency for such an expert system is also forecast.
