China as a great manufacturing country, the gear manufacturing technology of which is lower than the world's level. The gear hobbing machine, as one of the most important way to machine gears, is widely used. As the development of science and technology, the machining precision become higher and higher. In hobbing machine, its bed is an important part influencing its machining precision and stiffness greatly. Hence, by means of optimizing analysis, strengthening the stiffness of hobbing machine is one effective way to improve its machining precision.In the first part of this paper, current situation in the field of gear machining and structure is discussed and next the parametrized model of analysis object is established by software of Pro/E 2001. Lastly static analysis and optimation to above model is made by ANSYS Workbench and the main distortion distribution and optimation result with deflection as its optimation object are obtained.
