Polyvinyl chloride(PVC) is one of the five biggest general plastic. However, It is well known that PVC has poor thermal stability. In order to prevent PVC from changing color and decomposing, Heat stabilizers are a necessary component in PVC products.Sulphur content of organictin thermal stability is the best stability and sustained thermal stability, but its shortcoming is sulfur stench and seriously affected environment, it is bound to have an environment friendly thermal stabilizers to replace it. In our country, the new types of heat stabilizers cannot keep up with the development of PVC industry, reinforcing the development and application research of new heat stabilizer has been inevitable. This paper stated the preparation of a novel type of organotin heat stabilizers and isooctyl glycollate and bis(β-methoxy carbonylethyl)tindichlorides. Using microwave reactor synthesized isooctyl glycollate, The experimental results show that reacting of isooctyl alcohol with glycollic acid at the mole ratio 1.4:1, mount of resin catalyst is 1.3%(mass percent), reaction tanperature 115℃, heating and refluxing for about 20 min, greatly increasing the reaction rate. This paper optimized bis(β-methoxy carbonyleth-yl)tindichlorides purification meth-ods washed by peproleum ether and anhybrous ethanol, get high yield rate and relatively pure product. Organotin heatstabilizers have been measured by Congo test when incorpo rated into PVC. The thermal stability time is about 40min(at 180℃)when added 1.5%(mass percent)in PVC. It is Described that the synthesis of organictin heat stabilizer in the low volume, has good thermal stability, and non-toxic,non-sulfur smell is an environmentally friendly heat stabilizer. There will be very good social benefits.
