Open-close gripper mechanism as a important parts of the process of paper transfer in offset press, its work performance have a direct impact on the speed of printing and registration accuracy in printed materials. Akiyama JP40 perfecting press use conjugate cam control gripper opening and closing. One cam installated in the one side of the wallboards, the other installated in the other side. In this paper, for the kinematics and kinetics characteristics of the conjugate cam open-close gripper mechanism made theoretical analysis and application research. In addition, established a unilateral installated conjugate cam open-close gripper mechanism, study its kinetics performance, analysis and comparison the two kinds of open-close gripper mechanism, In order to provide a theoretical basis in the design of open-close gripper mechanism in high-speed printing machine to enterprises.The main research topics are as follows:(1) Analyzing the kinematics characteristics of JP40 perfecting press open-close gripper mechanism, in view of the special nature of the movement, presented and built a special method of kinematics research that is adopt to analyze relative motion first, then analyze absolute motion on the organization, and obtained the movement characteristics in the high-speed.(2) Utilizing Pro/ENGINEER established the models of JP40 perfecting press open-close gripper mechanism and unilateral installated conjugate cam open-close gripper mechanism .Simulate the movement of the JP40 perfecting press open-close gripper mechanism.(3) Analyzing the forces of gripper axis in JP40 perfecting press open-close gripper mechanism, contrast with the unilateral installated conjugate cam open-close gripper mechanism, the results showed that the forces of gripper axis in JP40 perfecting press open-close gripper mechanism more reasonable, gripper opening and closing in the same time period.(4) Respectively conducted the round shaft torsional vibration analysis for the two open-close gripper mechanism, obtained the main vibration modes.(5) Set up the gripper axis model of JP40 perfecting press open-close gripper mechanism and the gripper axis model of unilateral installated conjugate cam open-close gripper mechanism in ANSYS. And respectively conducted transient dynamics analysis. Through the comparative analysis results, the two gripper axis both had torsional deformation, but the opening and closing consistency of gripper axis in JP40 perfecting press open-close gripper mechanism is better, and the gripper opening and closing have time difference in unilateral installated conjugate cam open-close gripper mechanism.Through the dynamic performance studies of the new open-close gripper mechanism in high-speed presses, the subject provided reasonable parameters for the design of the open-close gripper mechanism, and established a good platform in order to develop our own intellectual property in high-speed, high-quality offset.
