The NC machining plays an important roles in the CAD/CAM technology to make benefit. During the NC machining process, the processing of parts must adapt with it, especially the part with complex shape, Therefore the NC system had better possess the function of spline curve interpolation by which the finish machining can be achieved to satisfy with requirements of complicated product. With the increasing of complication of parts and development of NC machining technology, processing programs become more and more complex, so it is very significant to validate the correction of NC machining program. The simulation technology of NC machining is investigated in the thesis, which can verify the accuracy of NC codes and check the interference in manufacturing, and has the good practicability. The simulating system can realize the real-time dynamic processing imitation according to actual cutting conditions and predict machining process and results.The main contents of the thesis are as follows:(1) Based on vector representation of parametric equations, a novel fast interpolation method of cubic B spline curve is presented. The interpolation method not only makes all interpolating points situated at the processing curve theoretically, but the real-time interpolation process has only the additive operation, so the interpolation speed is very high. The error analysis indicates that the machining precision could be guaranteed just only selecting the reasonable parameter. The performance and characteristics of the algorithm are analyzed and verified by NC processing experiments.(2) Utilizing ADAMS software simulates the workspace of machine tool. First, three-dimensional model of the milling machine is established in SolidEdge designs; Then the model is inducted in ADAMS environment, the constraints are set making use of ADAMS/View the parametrization function, and the driving forces are applied; Next, the space motion simulating program is completed with ADAMS language, which can imitate the space movements of the milling machine tool and ensure that collision can't be raised on the premise of meeting the workspace requirement.(3) Taking ObjectARX as redeveloping tool of drawing software AutoCAD under Visual C++ developing environment, three-dimensional solid modeling of four-axis milling machine is implemented with AutoCAD2002 software environment. The simulation system has several function, such as the travel determination of each axis, generation of stock and massage, input of G codes, checking of interference, and so on, which realizes the simulation of NC machining driven by NC codes, moreover it will help operators to familiar with the complex machine tool and understand the operational principles and the processing simulation's goal of four-axis milling machine. Finally, the simulation system is validated by applying example.
