The method of applying oil production machinery is an important step in the whole oil-field development process, in order to increase oil production speed and ultimate recovery rate. Electric submersible motor technology in oil field operations is one of the main means in the world and its reliability and capability are important to assure the high yield of the oil field. But electric submersible motors which are actually working at light load operation are quite common. This status results in the lower effiency and the energy waste. In the continuous development of the national economy and the energy growing tension today, improving production efficiency of electric submersible motor and reducing their energy consumption have gradually become an important topic of oil-field industry development. Energy-saving control of electric submersible motor is as the object of study, and it has important practical significance.Firstly, energy-saving ways which were generally used at home and abroad were introduced, and their merit and defects were analyzed by consulting a lot of literature. After the way of regulating voltage was chosen, control modes of regulating voltage which were generally used at home and abroad were introduced and analyzed.Secondly, the dissertation briefly introduced structure and principle of electric submersible motor. Energy-saving principle of voltage lowering was theoretically analyzed and voltage lowering had the influence to the machinery characteristics of motor. Voltage regulating control strategy which was the way of minimum input power and meanwhile stator current was taken into account was chosen, according to load characteristics and voltage regulating method of power voltage to electric submersible motor which was used by on-load-tap-changing transformer.Finally, the hardware and the software of energy-saving controller based on TMS320LF2402A were designed, according to energy-saving principle and analysis of voltage regulating control strategy. The article has built test platform of energy-saving system, on which massive experiments has been done. After certain achievements have been made, the controller was installed in oil-well scene and the effect continued to be examined.The results have indicated that energy-saving system centering on controller which was designed by the thesis can save energy when electric submersible motors are working at light load. The device can decrease power loss and improve the power factor and efficiency while motors can burden their load safely. As a result it has the good project practical value.
