Fiber placement technology is a new automatic manufacturing technology for composite, which means the compaction roller of fiber placement head delivers the certain positive press placing the fiber on the surface of rotational core to form a shell structure of composite. Fiber placement technology is particularly fit for the machining of composite parts with complex curved surfaces. Composite products have many advantages such as high specific strength, high specific modulus, good fatigue durability, good vibration-resistant ability, high manufacturability and distinctive designability of materials, so the equipment weight can be lightened and the work performance can be improved by using composite structure. At present, fiber placement technology has been widely used in aerospace fields in developed countries, but the domestic research of this technology is just taking off.Each axis of fiber placement machine cooperatively moves under control of CNC system, which can make the fiber placement head arrive at arbitrary location in space for placement. In this paper, the placement design is studied on the object of S-shaped plane inlet pipes.Firstly, the coordinate system for every movement of fiber placement machine is established and the gesture transform matrix among every movement axis is determined, then kinematics theory analysis of every movement parts of fiber placement machine are made. As a result, inverse kinematics algorithm is figured out, which is fit for the structure of fiber placement machine studied in this paper. The control parameters of every movement axis of fiber placement machine are obtained by this arithmetic.Secondly, grid analysis on the inlet-duct-model of S-shaped airplane is carried out with gridding principle, simultaneously placement layer and placement linetype are designed. Normal vector direction and movement contrail direction of placement surface are researched. The placement lines are post processed to get the control information of placement machine's moving axis at the time the placement path is achieve.Finally, considering the rotating of the core spindle, emulator program design is made for the placement machine system studied in the paper, preliminary optimum design is carried out for the movement of every axis. Meanwhile the correctness and feasibility of inverse kinematics algorithm are validated using two designed tracks of placement in virtue of Visual C++ and OpenGL emulator program.
