The technology of numerical simulation of casting is the result of integration of computer science and casting. It brings the new power to the traditional casting industry. Now, this technology has entered a practical stage. Several numerical simulation softwares have been developed home and abroad, such as Germany's MAGMA, American's ProCAST and the famous domestic InteCast.Now, the CAE system is not a closed system, and it needs cooperate with CAD systems and other CAE systems. This requires the CAE system to be a universal and open system, so it is important to develop the data interface of CAE system.In this paper, three interfaces of InteCast are developed.The interface between InteCast and ANSYS is on the basis of temperature field simulation software and finite element software. The integrated system, which combined the analysis of thermal field with stress field of casting and integrated the methods of FDM(Finite Difference Method) with FEM(Finite Element Method),has been established. In the system, an indirect coupling method is used, that is, the analysis of temperature field is carried out at first. Then the analysis of stress follows with the results of thermal analysis as body loads.According InteCast and ANSYS's data formats and the geometric relations between FDM and FEM enmeshed models, an interface module, which can transfer FDM temperature field data to FEM format, is programmed. This makes it possible to apply the temperature field data to ANSYS analysis as body loads.Typical test specimens have been used to verify the integration system. The simulated results are in well accordance with those which obtained from experiments and reference stuff.After full understanding the InteCast and Tecplot's files formats, the interface between InteCast and Tecplot is founded. And the file format conversion module is programmed.The results which are simulated by InteCast, are displayed in Tecplot.Then in contrast with the post-processing of InteCast, we could verify the veracity of the interface.The interface between InteCast and IGES based on the knowledge of the entities and the file format of IGES, We use the thinking of finite difference and the algorithm of intersection between plane and curve to initially realize the pre-processing module.The practical application examples demonstrate that the interfaces could well finish their own task. The interfaces of CAE system could enhance versatility and openness of CAE system and upgrade the system's competitiveness.
