In recent years, domestic and foreign scholars attach great importance to environmental science and vigorously carry out scientific research in this field. At the same time electromagnetic environment has aroused great concern to the public. Electromagnetic environment has become even worse with artificial electromagnetic radiation pollution continuing to increase. The reasons for this situation are the extensive applications of base-station antennas for mobile communication, large electrical equipment, high-voltage transmission and the large-scale distribution and so on. Electromagnetic energy in space increases at an average annual growth rate of 7% to 14%. Without a doubt, a foregone conclusion that electromagnetic environment will become even worse in 21st century can be made. Serious adverse electromagnetic environment not only cause electromagnetic interference in the electrical or electronic equipment, affect the normal operation of equipment, but also endanger people's physical and mental health.Over the years, wireless communications and mobile communications technology has been developing rapidly. And witch has thoroughly changed the way people work and lifestyle. More and more mobile communications base stations ware built to improve traffic capacity. So there is a base station in the urban areas from 200 to 300 meters frequently. And many base stations were built near the residential areas, causing its surroundings electromagnetic radiation pollution.Supported by Steel-design institution of Chongqing municipalities, the following work has been performed in this research: the analysis of the characteristics of base-station antennas for mobile communication was made by reading a lot of literature; electromagnetic radiation impact on the environment was analyzed through theoretical calculations of the mobile communication base station; some simulations of the base station antenna were made by using MATLAB; The model of the reinforced concrete shielding is discussed;Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method is the used in reinforced concrete shielding effect;The software analyzing the electromagnetic environment surrounding the buildings was developed by combining VC++ and using the theoretical model for the analysis of power frequency electromagnetic radiation sources and quoting the propagation model of the base station antenna discussed in this paper.
