The crankshafts are the key components for automobile engines and other internal-combustion engines, they are in great demand, various in kinds and strict demands for precision. Their machining quality determines the quality of engines, which directly influences the quality of car products; their machining efficiency determines the competitive power of automobile industry. Because the technics of getting high precision crankshaft are taken the reins by a few countries, the price of grinder is very high, up to 800,000 dollars. It is unbearable for many developing companys. It is necessary for us to develop our own grinder, the emphases is to develop an CNC control system to fulfill the requirement of economical development. So to develop a grinder that is not only cheap but also high precision is valuable.My paper adopt the system structure that is popularity overseas, which is IPC+Motion control card. Based on the platform of Windows, can grind a crankshaft quickly and it need equip the crankshaft one time. The system uses the IPC as the hardware platform, combining with the preferable capability of TRIO PCI motion control card, supported by linear motor and servo motor, it make up of the high capability configure. In this paper, the structure diagram of the system hardware is given, and explains the design and the realization methods.This paper establishment of a mathematical model to follow the grinding movement ,by analysis of crankshaft grinding with the characteristics of the movement, and combined the features of system and experimental data, proposed the method to amendment the data of theory curve. In the grinding process, due to grinding wheel has a high-speed, high acceleration and deceleration and high dynamic response of the characteristics of the movement, so the control system of grinding wheel use linear motor as the implementing agency to ensure that the shaft in the process can also follow a high degree of assurance of grinding ,under the circumstances of Quickly, the trip movement reciprocating, large load inertia.System software based on the Windows operating system, using Visual C++6.0 object-oriented, modular design, the preparation of the man-machine interface programs. This paper gives three modules of the software structure diagram ,the user level of the NC system, data processing level, control level of the NC system .Give specifications of functional module which is required by software system ,discussed the main module's Design and Implementation in detail. Modular design, level of openness of the thinking for the future of the NC system maintenance, expansion and upgrades. Finally, the scene of debugging, reached a basic numerical control system designed to meet the user's requirements.
