With the rapid development of rubber industry and other polymer processing industry, rubber processing machinery is becoming more and more important, more and more widely in polymer processing field. Rubber plastication is one of the indispensable parts in rubber processing technology at the present stage; its purpose is to acquire appropriate plasticating rubber, to satisfy the need of the subsequent process.At present, the equipment of rubber plastication is mainly open mixer and mixer, also seldom adopts single-screw continuous extruder on plasticating rubber. But all of them still exist many shortcomings. For example, it is discontinuous production in the former and it exists to eat material difficultily in the later. This thesis proposed twin-screw rubber plasticator is to solve the continuous for massive rubber plastication, and be extruded in the shape of flake, continuous to provide stable and high quality of plasticating rubber for continuous mixing.The principally works performed in this thesis are as follows:1. Refer to a lot of literature and patents on rubber plasticating mechanism, plastication equipment and experimental research and continuous mixing equipment, and summarized them. Proposed design ideas based on the twin-screw rubber plasticator.2. Establish the mathematic model of the feeding and solid rubber transfer and fused mass transfer in the plasticating process of twin-screw rubber plasticator, and establish the best method of the raw rubber plasticating.3. Designed for continuous plasticating rubber special type of twin-screw rubber plasticator and new screw configurations.4. Using the finite element software ADINA simulations rubber flow mechanism in the plasticating process in detail, such as the stress field, the shear stress field, the velocity vector field parameters. Setting of different screw speed, discussed the flow condition of the different areas rubber in new screw, plasticating effect and the best plasticating technological condition, establish the elementary foundation on deeper plasticating mechanism and theory of the twin-screw rubber plastication equipment.In this paper, the design of twin-screw rubber plasticator, which is the innovation based on original plastics twin-screw extruder and rubber pin cool-feeding extruder, is a new type of raw rubber continuous plasticating processing equipment. It is a breakthrough of the traditional plasticating rubber processing equipment design ideas, greatly enhanced production capacity of the extruder and plasticizing ability, improve the working efficiency and equipment reliability, and provides an important guarantee of continuous supply rubber for the further research of the massive rubber continuous mixing.
