Twin screw continuous extrusion production of desulfurization GTR is a kind of environmental-friendly methods for the production of reclaimed rubber. At present, the theoretical research is still not perfect in the process of screw extruder for producing reclaimed rubber, and the adjustment of process parameters mainly depend on the worker’s experience. This paper establishes the temperature field model on the view of the experimental point by measuring the parameters of the impact of temperature’s distribution, and gets the relationship between reclaimed rubber product’s mechanical properties and its Mooney viscosity.Firstly, this paper uses natural rubber as the material, and measures three different plasticizers’(coal tar oil, pine tar and tall oil) the permeability to material and the coefficient of thermal conductivity. Using the heat conduction coefficient as the simulation parameters, we simulate the temperature distribution of the material in different heating zones of the counter rotating twin screw extruder. Using the finite element software (ANSYS workbench) establishes the temperature distribution model of screw and temperature distribution of the heating zones. Using the φ50mm intermeshing counter rotating twin screw extruder we do the reclaimed rubber experiment, and get the relationship between the performance and the Mooney viscosity of different areas of material temperature. The simulation results also verify the correctness of the test and the outlet temperature by temperature test and we analyze the error’reason. This paper presents a calculation method for the engineering application of the screw shear strength as well, we call it relative flow method. It is a simple calculation method for calculating different screw’s shear strength, especially for the intermeshing co rotating twin screw which working as shear. Through the experiment of φ50mm in intermeshing co rotating twin screw, we compare the reclaimed rubber’s performance of different refining machines’shear environment as intermeshing co rotating twin screw and the open mill.The experimental results show that:in the same speed, feed rate and other parameters, the use of coal tar as a plasticizing agent under the condition of high shear region, the higher the temperature is, the more obviously effects of desulfurization. When the high shear region where temperature exceeds a certain value, the shear and the desulfurizing agent can make the ground tire rubber powder in the backbone fracture. The finite element simulation method in this paper using in the intermeshing counter rotating twin screw turns to be right and the measurement value and error are in a reasonable range, so the simulation results is effective. The intermeshing co rotating twin screw extruder is the length of the channel and the relative length of the channel open mill are similar, the product performance is similar, it is proved that the relative path length method can be applied in engineering. The results and conclusion in this paper has play a positive role in establishing the temperature field model of ground tire rubber (GTR) in the screw and finding out the desulfurization factors accurately and saving and emission reduction in the refining process of energy.
