Cutting load is a major indicator in judging the states of cutting process and cutting machine. By detecting it, cutting outputs are reasonable or not can also be judged. That helps avoiding cutting accidents, improving cutting efficiency, reducing cost. Detecting cutting load online in numerical cutting process is so essential by those reasons. But simple and convenient cutting load detecting equipment has not been developed in practical application so far.This thesis puts the stress study on the methods of cutting feed load calibration, and designed cutting feed load calibration equipment based on that. By adjusting machine feeding speed and the control voltage of ratio governor valve, the equipment can imitate the cutting process to build a model of feeding speed, control voltage and cutting feed load. Then a relationship can be built between cutting feed load and servo motor current., through the adjusting of the model parameters and the online detection of servo motor current. So that cutting load can be detected by detecting servo motor currents after the relationship calibration between cutting feed force and servo motor in different axle.It is simple and cheap to manufacture the equipment. With the application of this equipment, it is convenient to calibrate cutting feed load.The research fruit of this thesis is a part of National 973 project'Digitized Manufacture Basic Research'.
