Honing is a special ultra-precision grinding method and it is often used as the last procure of the workpiece processing technology which determines the final quality of the workpiece.The feed movement is one of the three overlaying motions of the honing machine(the feeding movement of the honing stone,an axial stroke movement,a rotational movement along the tool axis),and its movement and accuracy determine the quality of honing directly.With the development of honing technology,the feed system should can be controlled to achieve pressure control and speed feed at the same time.The double feed system of traditional honing machine is driven by the hydraulic system which easier to achieve pressure control feed,but difficult to achieve speed control and it has not been able to meet the requirements of modern honing process.In this paper,the double feed and its control system of the honing machine based on the servo motor are studied,which mainly includes the following aspects:The modern honing process is studied,and the function of the feeding system is defined.The change of pressure and velocity during the feeding process is studied,so that the conversion between the two control modes is found.The dynamic model of the feeding system is established.The simulation system of MATLAB / simulink is used to analyze the response of the system under ultra-low speed and special working conditions which provides theoretical guidance for the establishment of the control system.The special problem of the completion of the rapid feed can not be judged of the feeding system based on servo motor is researched.The method of rapid feed is given: the pressure comparison control method and the feasibility of the method is verified by experiments.The PID control strategy is selected according to the structural characteristics of the feed system.The control system and the control interface are established according to the above theoretical research.The dynamic performance of the feed system is verified by the experiments of the speed feed,the conversion between the pressure feed and the speed feed.
