Water Environmental Risk Assessment And Management In The Process Of Urbanization

Urbanization is a social and historical process that the population, modes of production and way of life transform from rural into urban-type. China is at a period of rapid urbanization, water environmental problems of urban caused widespread concern. The latest United Nation's report said that half of the world's population had lived in cities by the end of 2008, China's urban population has be expected to more than 70 percent of the total population by 2050. The thesis studies water environmental risk assessment and management in the process of urbanization.The urban is the place that population, industry and traffic are very concentrated. The pollutants discharged into the water environment are many kinds. The thesis compares the economic and social development to changing environment in the process of urbanization, analyzes the inevitability of urbanization, the harmfulness of the urban water environmental pollution and the importance of risk research, raises a question that the water environmental risk in the urban process.The thesis analyzes a series of change that the urbanization brought about and impacts of water environment after urbanization,studies water environmental risk assessment after urbanization.The method presented in the thesis has been applied to water environmental risk assessment of one industrial park. The results confirm that with the deepening of the process of urbanization, water environmental risk also increased significantly, taking timely and appropriate measures will greatly reduce the risk. Finally, propose measures for the urban water environmental management.
