Grinding is an important manufacturing process in machinofacture. Technology of grinding holds an important position in machine manufacture. Grinding thermal reaction has enormous influence on surface quality and operational performance of workpiece, and can affect service life of grinding wheel. Grinding temperature is the general term of workpiece temperature-rise which was caused by grinding heat. It is an evaluation criterion of the magnitude of grinding thermal reaction. Grinding temperature is influenced by a lot of factors, including rotating speed of grinding wheel, workpiece speed, depth of grinding, grinding fluid flow, characteristics of nozzle and so on. Therefore, it is of great significance to study temperature field in grinding zone.In this paper, the effects of the available supply ways of grinding fluid on the cooling are analyzed. On the bases of environmental protection and economic benefit, fluid-supply equipment in grinding process is ameliorated. Experimental research is focalized on medium-low speed grinding process by surface grinding, 45 steel and thermal infrared imager. The experimentation analyzes the effect of grinding parameters, especially the supply way and the flow of grinding fluid to the surface temperature. It improve the disadvantage of the theoretical simulation analysis. The major work is summarized as follows:(1) The thesis introduces the concept, the development process and the characteristics of grinding. Then, the theoretical model of grinding temperature is analyzed. Combined with the status quo of grinding temperature research, the method of measurement and analysis are determined to prepare for the test of temperature.(2) The thesis analyzes the effects of the available supply ways of grinding fluid on the cooling, ameliorates the fluid-supply equipment in grinding process and designs the hardware of grinding system.(3) The method of application of HY-2988G infrared thermal imager is expounded in detail. 45 steel is enumerated as an example. Temperature of surface grinding is measured through experimental research. Cooling experiments are also studied. (4) The experimental data are processed and analyzed. Multivariate regression model is derived to study the effect of grinding parameters to the surface temperature. At the same time, the thesis indicate that the flow of grinding fluid and the nozzle structure are two influencing factors of the cooling effect.(5) Finally, the conclusion and the developing trend are given. And It puts forward the issues to be solved in the future research.From this research, we come to conclusion as follows. The measurement results of infrared thermal imager coincides thermocouple, so it is feasible to apply imaging method for the experimental study on grinding temperature. The size, shape, location of the nozzle influence the effect of grinding cooling. Grinding temperature correlates not only with rotating speed of grinding wheel, workpiece speed, depth of grinding, but also grinding fluid flow size. The study of this paper can propel green grinding.
