One-dimensional nanomaterials is a special structure of substances on nanometer dimension.One-dimensional nanomaterials have attracted much attention recently for their novel optical,elcetrical,magnetic and machanical properties different from those of bulk or nanopartieles.This kind of substances is covenient for manipulation,which has potential application in numerous areas.With development and application of nano-technology and nanomaterials,technology of coatings enter a new domain. Nano-composite coatings exhibit many functions and high performance,which can be manufactured by adding appropriate nano-particles into coatings.Waterborne inorganic zinc-rich paints is a kind of the effective anti-corrosion paints and environment-protecting performance,which are widely used in maritime domain. Although waterborne inorganic zinc-rich paints is superior protection,there are a few shortages,for instance,the paints is "brickle" and easy chap.Its mechanical properties and cavitation resistance are poor.Adding one-dimensional nanomaterials to improve its performance is an effective way.This paper has studied on the waterborne inorganic zinc-rich paints modified by one-dimensional nanomaterials(CNTs and ZnO).The main jobs of the thesis are as follows:(1) Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) used in this investigation were prepared by chemical vapor deposition,and were purified by acid solution.The MWNTs/PAA composites were prepared by chemical functionalization,and characterized by TEM,SEM and FT-IR.The results showed that the PAA wrapped evenly on the surface of MWNTs.The MWNTs/PAA composites were well dispersed in water and styrene-acrylate emulsion.(2) Nano-composite zinc-rich paints were produced by adding styrene-acrylate emulsion,carbon nanotubes and composites into conventional waterborne inorganic zinc-rich paints.The effects of addition of the styrene-acrylate emulsion and the carbon nanotubes on the mechanical performance,anticorrosion and anticavitation erosion behavior of the nano-composite zinc-rich paints were investigated.The results showed that waterborne inorganic zinc-rich paints modified by MWNTs/PAA and MWNTs/ZnO composites had better performance.The corrosive resistance and cavitation erosive resistance of the corresponding paints were remarkablely improved.(3) The effect of adding one-dimensional ZnO nanorods into waterborne inorganic zinc-rich paints was also explored.It was found that mechanical property of the waterborne inorganic zinc-rich paints modified by 5 wt.%ZnO nanorods was enhanced.We also evaluated its anti-corrosion capability by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS).
