With the acceleration of the pace of China's high speed railway construction, the quality of rail welding is desired to be more and more high. The mini-type CNC gas pressure welding are widely used, for its low costs, good performance of joints, light weight components, small size and flexible operation. However, the pressure regulator and reversing mechanism in old equipment have the problems in low control precision, bad flexible and poor reliability. So study on the new control system has the important significance and engineering practical value.In this paper, depended on the advanced electro-hydraulic servo control technology and Mitsubishi PLC, A/D, D/A etc, based on YJ-720TB-ZS, we designed a new type of gas pressure welding electro-hydraulic servo control systems and control technology. We used the electro-hydraulic proportional valve to replace the original machine controlled by the cone valve. The purpose is to improve the welding pressure, displacement, speed regulation accuracy of key parameters, control flexibility, and system reliability. We contrast the made in China valve and valve in the new valve control system characteristics and discuss the feasibility of efficient heating technology, based on the new control system.The results of experiment show that the new pressure regulator system has fast response, and high accuracy control; the Electro-hydraulic Servo Control System achieved precise control in welding displacement, and a variety of welding technology. After the trial scene rail welding, welding quality reached TB/T1632-2005《Rail Welding》standards. In brief, the Electro-hydraulic Servo Control System in gas pressure welding is better than control system in motor in Flexible control and reliability.
