The numerical control machine tools is thought as a key equipment in the modern manufacturing industry.All contries are paying their attention to studing them.In the west,for example,in America and Japan where the industry is developed,the numerical control machine tools is the strategical material. As we know,the gantry moving 5-axes milling tools can be used in machining the complex surface of the airscrew.So the USA cracked down on Japan because the ladder had sold the 5-axes milling tools to Russa,it is called"TOSHIBA event".And American congress wanted to crack down on China before nine years, for having sixteen the old 5-axes milling tools that can be used in machining the palne,it is named "Cox Report".So the study on the numerical control machine tool is strategical and historical to the security of our contry.In this paper, GMD3540 Milling and Drilling Machine Tools with the Movable Gantry is introdused.Its structure,parameter,chosing the screw ,chosing the guide and the accessory function are descibed as the emphases.By using the finite element analysis soft and analysing force, analysing stiffness and optimizing structure are done.The primary study of the paper will be expressed as follow.(1) Designing the structure and the accessory parts.In the machine,the table is fixed.The gantry can move on the two bodies,that is X-aix.So we can obtain the enough space for machining and the enough carrying cappacity.The two spindles are assembled on the beam,so they can move as Y-aix and Z-aix.And the two spindles are controled respectively.The gray cast iron,boxing structure and rectangular cross are used in the parts,the good rigidty and bending resistance are obtained.In Y-aix and Z-aix,the slide rail is used and the rolling guide is used in X-aix.The good movement is obtained.(2) The design formula and the factual condstion are thought three times,the guide,the screwand the motor of the machine are designed.The guide of X-aix is assembled flatly,the other guides are assembled erectly.The life of the guide and the screw are enough by caculating.The type of"fix-fix"backstand is used.To obtaining the bigger torque,the down shift with 1:2 is used.(3) By 3-D designing soft,designing all parts of the machine.By finite element analysis soft,analysing the force in two kind of condition.So the optimazed structure is obtained.(4) The kinematic accuracy of the machine is chacked.The positioning accuracy and repeatable accuracy are adjusted by laser interferometer.By machining pipe sheet,the machine precesion is proved.The machine can be thought as a machine which can complete with the foreign advanced machine tools.And it is a machine with good function and the cheap that is made in China.
