Textile industry has become one of the most predominant pollution sources, since the textile products are produced largely in China where a lot of dyeing wastewater generated with a high concentration of pollutants in it. Accompanied by the development of dyeing chemical, a variety of dyes emerged currently with complicated constituents which has properties such as antioxidation, anti-photolysis, high chroma and concentration, etc. Consequently, the difficulty in tackling dyeing wastewater is enhanced.Advanced oxidation process is a kind of wastewater treatment technology formed in the 1980s characterized by oxidizing organic compounds effectively to harmless carbon dioxide and water through strong oxidative hydroxyl radicals. This kind of advanced oxidation process is highly appreciated from the range of the world for its strong oxidation whose operating condition is easy to control.Besides, research and development tasks has been carried out in relevant works subsequently.Based on bubbling column reactor, the simulated dyeing wastewater was treated in this study where satisfactory effects was obtained. Decoloration and COD removal of simulated dyeing wastewater (reactive brilliant blue KN-R 100 mg/L) were carried out by ozone oxidation. Moreover, wastewater treatment efficiency was also observed in the presence of radical scavenger(TBA), whose reaction mechanism was investigated and discussed. In the same condition, decoloration and COD removal efficiency of C.I. Vat yellow G, mordant orange M and methylene blue with different components and structures were investigated. Experimental results showed that: (1)After 30min oxidation, the decolorization rate of dye solution could reach 95.37%, and the removel rate of COD and TOC were 51.02% and 35.64% respectively. However, the pH of dye solution decreased evidently. In the presence of radical scavenger TBA, the COD removal efficiency decreases largely, whereas the decolorization efficiency was almost unchanged.
