Parallel Machine Tool and hybrid machine tool by a combination of series and parallel machanisms, and its construction of CNC system is still in the initial stage and lack of uniform standards.And the configuration and scale parameters of different types of machine tools containing paraller mechanisms are different. Therefore, its actual situation map of the structure and parameters are also different, The corresponding CNC systems are not the same, it is needed that CNC system is self-developed.The article describes structural characteristics of series,parallel,series-parallel and compound machining machine tools,analyses the features of compound machining machine tools with parallel mechanism by comparing the differences between them,and concludes such a compound machining machine tool's features.Therefore, a theoretical basis is laid for the development of CNC system.The CNC system based on PC and programmable multiple axis controller is the most ideal open CNC system.This article analyses the hardware structure of open mode CNC system based on the "PC+Turbo PMAC" and feasibility of developing software systems by Virtual C++.In the operating system of Windows XP,The entire CNC system software is divided into CNC processing software and user interface software.CNC processing software is to realize the existing NC file or a tool-path file is converted to the machining file involving a parallel mechanism. The user interface software is to achieve human-computer interaction. Both parts are bulided with modular concept.For the structural features of VC-80 mill-turn machine tool,simulations of the milling and mill-turn process are realized by UG, VERICUT, and simulation module of hybride milling,it is verified that common use and correctness of post-processing module and some practicality of hybride milling simulation module.
