Open Cnc System Based On The Pmac Motion Controller

Open CNC System is the main form of computer numerical control machine. This paper described a form of open CNC system based on PMAC and COM. The design includes the following works:1. The communication module is designed with COM technology. This module links the upper interface with PMAC. This module also can be modified to fit with another type of kinetic control system.2. The method of designing an open NC command system is researched. And an open NC command system based on PMAC is developed.3. PMAC can simulate the NC program by modifying a certain address. Therefore a module of tool path simulation is designed, which can only be used to simulate the simple part' s tool path.4. A part with the form of mouse' s head is machined by using this CNC system on minute part work machine in order to verify the performance of the system.
