With the chemical flooding method became the leading continued stable production technology in oil field, chemical agents effect obviously and was used in large amount, but what effects of these chemical agents had on crude oil properties and subsequent processing were unknown. Therefore, it's very important to study the effects of the conventional chemical agents on crude oil properties, their major components and their distribution in oil-water.It was studied in this paper such as the application of the conventional chemical agents in the oil field blocks, their composition, the distribution in oil-water, the effects of the conventional chemical agents on crude oil properties, which was organic chlorine content, sulfur content, the acid value, salt content and so on. By testing the chlorine content and the sulfur content of the chemicals organic, the conventional chemicals such as demulsifiers, viscosity reducer, wax removal agents, and petroleum sulfonate were chosen which were of large amount use and high organic chlorine and sulfur content. After analyzing the distribution and changes of the properties of Shengli crude oil, seven teams in Xin 31-3, Dongxin; and block Grass 13-P36, Le-an experimental oil were chosen as experimental oil.It was also studied that the changes in organic chlorine, sulfur content, acid value, viscosity and other properties caused by conventional chemicals; the way brought in organic chlorine according to the chemicals components; found the form of existence in crude oil according to the chemicals distribution in oil and water; found the properties changes of the crude oil by increased dosage; and found the changes of crude oil organic chlorine and sulfur content by instrumental analysis such as IR analysis and so on.The results showed that the demulsifier, wax removal agents, and petroleum sulfonate had much more impact on content, which brought in organic chlorine obviously. We can see that the way of control chlorine organic, it was better to use none organic chlorine solvents for demulsifier and Wax agent while for the petroleum sulfonate, better to control the dosage. According to oil industry standards, wax removal must control the organic chlorine content of 0.The results also show that the sulfur content of crude oil was more influenced by the geological origin, and the agents brought relatively less even sulfur which could be ignored. The conventional chemicals could help the dehydration and desalting, viscosity reducing, and improve the export crude oil properties. Moreover, the conventional chemicals had little effect on crude oil density.
