As the representative type of shearer in recent years, drum shearer has been applied in most large coal production enterprises and already become the core equipment in modern fully mechanized coal mining face. Reliability of drum shearer also has been a significant index of measuring its performance. While, reliability of shearer not only relates to design and manufacturing, but also relates to transport, storage, installation and use, maintenance closely. Therefore, from design to scrap, constructing an integrated reliability engineering of drum shearer for reliability study is an extremely meaningful subject and also an important subject adapting to modern coal production.This subject is a cross-disciplinary subject with School of Economics and Management. The typical life cycle theory as a foundation, this paper proposes the life cycle theory of drum shearer and studies the reliability of the life cycle from management perspective. Covering many contents of equipment management and quality management, the subject involves the inherent reliability management in the design, manufacturing phase and the using reliability management in the logistics, storage, installation and use phase. But focusing on the using reliability of shearer, the using reliability is discussed detailedly in phase and levels. By means of the statistical analysis of the research data from Shen Dong mining area, the typical failure and failure rate of shearer in the latest life period is analyzed. Meanwhile, I establish the reliability comprehensive evaluation model of overhauled shearer using fuzziness theory and multi-index evaluation. At last, in PHP5, MySQL, Apache software environment, I develop Reliability Management System (RMS system) of shearer with PHP programming language. In the system, I mainly establish RMS system function framework and develop basic database. The purpose of this subject is improving the inherent reliability, effectively keeping the using reliability, reducing failure rate, extending service life and producing more economic value through the reliability management of the life cycle.
