Thick seams, special thick seam mining of high yield and efficiency is directly related to the interests of coal mining enterprises. Large mining height mining machine is an effective tool to realize this purpose. Design of domestic large mining height mining machine is imitation and scaling up, lack of effective research approach.Compared with the imported equipment reliability is low. Therefore, a new approach designed to develop large mining height Shearerand improve domestic equipment reliability is the key to dominate the market.Traditional ranging arm of large mining height of Shearer has large size?long casting cycle and complex process. Depended on the project of "Computer simulation analysis on easy maintenance SL1000 shearer ranging arm ",based on an innovative design, the casting welding (cast and high strength plate) combination type of ranging arm was developed. Based on virtual prototype technology, a rigid-flex coupled virtual prototyping model of large mining height of shearer,which defined casting welding combination type of ranging arm as flexible parts, was built by means of Pro/E and ADAMS. According to the occurrence condition of Daliuta 5-2 coal seams of SHENDONG COAL GROUP and design parameters of drum and shearer, load files of drum under different conditions were obtained by using Matlab software.The simulation analysis under actual operating conditions found that the stresses of weld of stiffening ring of ranging arm and the cover hole of left idler shaft were large and exceed their material allowable stresses.The deformation of output was large and fatigue life of ranging arm was short; After structure optimized, two weaknesses's stresses respectively decreased 99.907Mpa and 7.676Mpa, the displacement of INT_Node11Y direction falled 0.0227mm. And the minimum fatigue cycle number of high strength plate was increased by about 96 times.The analysis results have important reference value on selecting welding seam position reasonably, optimizing welding process and improving working reliability of the ranging arm. And also provides a new approach for the design and R & D of large bearing shell parts under complex loading.,the economic and social benefits are quite notable.
