This thesis focuses on the discussion of the difference between the "horizontal discal centrifugal spinning method" and the traditional spinning method, which is on the starting point of the independent creation---"horizontal discal centrifugal spinning method" by the research group. We raised the tentative plan on the principle of the method and designed the equipments. Through using these equipments, we have researched the spinnability of many different types of the polymers, including thermoplastics (PE, PP, PET, PS, part of the epoxy resins), thermoset (Phenolic resins), thermoplastic elastomer (POE), and obtained micron polymer fibers which have a uniform diameter. On the other hand, with observing the spinning products of certain polymers spun with different parameters, we fished out the general rules of controlling the physical properties of the fiber products. These provide us an important referenced experience for the future operation of the productive centrifugal spinning equipments. In addition, the practical function of the functional phenolic polymer fibers, polypropylene fibers, polyester fibers and recycled polyester fibers has also been discussed in this thesis, focusing on the outstanding flame resistant and fire resistant performance on the phenolic materials which is polymerized by the phenolic fibers, and the excellent oil absorbency of polypropylene fibers and polyester fibers. All these research provide us an original basis for the application of the preparation of functional polymer fiber by the horizontal discal centrifugal spinning equipments.
