It's more and more urgent to construct wastewater treatment plant in small towns in China recent years. And it's a critical issue to choose a suitable wastewater treatment process whose investment cost and operation cost are low but the treatment effect is very good. As the commissioning test and trial operation results shows, the CFIBR process is just the one which can best meet the requirements of wastewater treatment engineering for the small towns.The conclusions of the commissioning test and trial operation are as follows:(1) As the commissioning test and trial operation results of the wastewater treatment plant in Maozui Town, Xiaotao City shows, the continuous flow intermission biologic reactor process is very suitable to treat the sewage water in small towns as its small occupied area, short flow, convenient management, and low construction cost and operation cost, its operation cost is 0.29yuan/t wastewater, which is worthy of further population.(2)As the substrate degradation dynamics shows, the substrate values are related to t,,θ,(?),Si, S0,μmax,Y, X0. And based on the qualitative analysis, the trend of the substrate values changes in a running circle of the CFIBR is gradually decreased during the aerating period, first increased and then decreased in agitation period, but kept invariant during the settlement period, which can be demonstrated by the commissioning test results. But the reason of the trend of NH3-N degradation is unsure and need further research.(3)In the designing period of a wastewater treatment plant in a small town, the quantity and quality of the influent would better be determined by inquiring the water consumption and the development of the small town, the code about this is much lager than the local conditions. And the pipe network of the wastewater treatment plant must be built simultaneously.(4) It can make sense that the DO values in the aerobic period maintain 1~2mg/L in the operation of the CFIBR while the effluent quality reaches the standard.(5)The removal rate of the COD, NH3-N and SS of CFIBR are very well. During the commissioning test, the effluent of the COD is below 16mg/L, the NH3-N is below 6mg/L, the SS is below 10mg/L, which is lower than the primary standard B while the aeration time is 1.5 hours, the agitation time is 1 hour and the settlement time is 1.5 hours. But the TN and TP are not examined.(6)The cost of the land treatment for sludge is low and it's very feasible to be used in the wastewater treatment plant in small towns after the pathogen and parasites in the activated sludge get bactericidal treatment. The aerobic sludge composting is also an appreciate disposal for the sludge, but the operation cost is a little more expensive than the land treatment. The final disposal for the sludge of the wastewater treatment plant in small towns can choose either the land treatment or the aerobic sludge composting as local conditions.
