In the forging production, Shaft Forgings are the most in quantity and maximum in workload, in which, the cars rod, rear axle gear and other transmission parts, they need stringent quality and difficult technology. The traditional manufacturing process of spiral bevel gear forging is that blank hammer stretching system, then shape open die forging the final. Not only the production of forging quality is very low, larger flash but also easy to produce waste, greatly reduce material utilization, increase production costs. The traditional manufacturing process of rod blanks is hot forging, that process gets larger flash, material utilization is very low, not only material costs and engineering fees increase but also raising the cost of the product. Roll Forging is that make the blank through the forging die with a pair of rotating rollers, metal deformation in the rotating manipulation, gets all kinds of forgings and forging stock of forming new technology. In this paper, through combining computer simulation analysis with physical verification test method to study two types of Roll Forging Shaft Technology.This paper divides the two types of shaft forging into several feature segments based on the research of the geometry of the two types of shaft forging, through the analysis of forging process to determine their respective roller forging process(spiral bevel gears by blocking roller forging process of forgings, bars forgings by roll forging process), according to the design principle of roller forging process, the design method of two types of shaft forgings roller forging process was proposed, and give the given type axial parts design process and mould calculation。Based on the three-dimensional modeling software PRO/E environment, the three-dimensional modeling of two types axial forging and roller forging stock was achieved while the respectively designing of mold cavity, laid a foundation for the finite element analysis.The metal flow law, stress and strain distribution law and deformation law in the two shaft parts roll forging metal forming process has been studied with finite element simulation software, and we obtained the ideal simulation results by constantly adjusting the mold and the process parameters, and achieve the optimization of two shaft parts roll forging process and die cavity.
