Reasonable determination and regulation of open-pit stripping ratio is an important issue in open-pit mining. Open-pit mines should be planed and the plans should be changed with the changing of economic benefits index. The production stripping ratio is related to economic benefits of the open-pit mines; Effectively controlling the stripping ratio can ensure the coordination of stripping relations in the production process. Therefore, the optimization and regulation play important roles in open-pit mining design. People have been exploring this issue.To seeking for the optimalizing general benefits of mining, this paper employs some principles and basic methods of operational research, the modern control theory and computer program. Considering many optimization rules and disturbance factors, this paper provides the dynamic optimization models, discusses using optimal control theory during the production processing and how to use the method of modern control theory in short-term and long-term adjusting and controlling stripping ratio.Applied some principles and methods of modern cybernetics, this paper solves the stripping ratio optimization problem. Based on the multivariable adaptive thought, this paper constructs the control model and introduces the regulation theory and method in long term and short term. According to the actual production, we translate the continuous subject into the discrete one, which makes it easier to optimize the stripping ratio. At the same time, we adjust and control the stripping ratio when the actual stripping ratio deviates from the optimal one. Stripping flood peak period is delayed, so that mining stripped rock amount is balanced and the stripping scheme is optimized. Thereby the total cost is reduced and the objective of rising economic benefits has been reached. Mining steady equilibrium production is realized.The results of this paper will be helpful to scientific determination and regulation of open-pit stripping ratio. Specific application shows that the theory and method proposed in this paper are correct, can be directly applied in open-air mining design and production management.
