With the rapid economic growth and the improvement of people's living standards and environment, vertical cupboard doors have become one of the indispensable furniture for the environment of modern life and office, which design have increasingly shown the features of personality, artistic and scale. However, the hole slots processing for the current vertical cupboard doors are used by uniaxial woodworking drill, multi-spindle woodworking drill and hinge hole drill, whose manufacturing methods have many problems, such as decentralized processing procedures, low processing accuracy and automation, so whether machining accuracy, machine tool structure or production efficiency cannot meet the requirements of modern production. Therefore, it is an urgent need for design a new hole slots dedicated NC machine for vertical cupboard doors, which not only have provided a new thinking for the development of woodworking machinery when meeting the market demand, but also improved domestic level of CNC woodworking machinery.In this paper, the hole slots of the vertical cupboard door have been the typical object for processing. Though the CNC machining process analysis of hole slots of the vertical cupboard door, the hole slots dedicated NC machining equipment for vertical cupboard doors was designed. In this design, the structure form of gantry with X, Y, Z axis linkage have been used for the machine, which has consisted of material mechanisms of entrance and exit, mechanism of positioning and clamping, motion mechanism of main axis on beam, drive mechanism of vertical gantry and the electronic control system. In addition, a special positioning and clamping device controlled by air-actuated has been designed, so that all of processing operations can be completed in the case of clamping the work-piece one-time, through three axis linkage, to reduce the cumulative error as the result of multiple clamping. At the same time, the rack and pinion gear transmission of the middle symmetrical clamp device have been simulated and analyzed with ADAMS software in order to verify the rationality of the design.In this article, finite element analyses also have been done by using ANSYS software for gantry beams of the beam axis motion mechanism. First, the structural static analysis was carried out on the gantry beams and the displacement and stress map was got. Second, the modal analysis was carried out on the gantry beams at different frequencies of vibration, the natural frequency and vibration mode of the gantry beam was obtained. Finally, the harmonic analysis was carried out on the displacement of the gantry beams which generated by the known frequency vibrations under external load, and the displacement response curve of each point of the gantry beam was got which provided the basis for structural optimization. In addition, through simulating the hole slots processing for vertical cupboard door with the Pro/NC modules, automatic programming for hole slots processing vertical cupboard door has been achieved.Finally, the motion model of whole equipment have been established and assembled in Pro/E environment, and motion simulation of the model has been analyzed. The problems can be found by analyzed existing in the design, in order to provide guidance for the design to improve and perfect, to shorten product development cycles and reduce design costs.
