This paper conducted a detailed analysis to the organic wastewaters from post acetic ether manufacturing process in acetic acid plant (phase 3, expanded) in Jiansu Su Pu (Group) Co. Ltd. A wastewater treatment system (WTS) was proposed, followed by an intensive study on the key equipments and techniques within the WTS. A complete set of WTS was developed, and it is proved that the developed WTS can reach the targeted requirement of wastewater treatment.The main tasks completed and conclusions obtained in this paper are summarized as follows:the water quality as the inlet and the outlet of the manufacturing process of acetic ether project and vinyl acetate project (newly built) were analyzed, and the targeted requirement (in form of several detailed indexes) of wastewater treatment system was determined; a series of experiments was done, and techniques and technique flow of the wastewater treatment were determined; the chemical and/or physical process within regulating reservoir, anaerobic reactor, aerobic reactor and sludge treatment units were analyzed and compared, and processing plan as well as process parameters for each unit were determined; the processing principles within the anaerobic reactor were analyzed, and the dynamic model within the anaerobic reactor was established and analyzed; the mass equilibrium process within the EGSB reactor was investigated; the calculation method for the parameters within the anaerobic reactor is studied, and those parameters were calculated. The structure of the anaerobic reactor (levelâ… and levelâ…¡) was designed and the processing parameters were determined as well. The characteristics of the sludge from the wastewater processing were studied, and the effecting factors to the formation of particle sludge were analyzed. The design of the sludge reservoir structure and the sludge dewatering system were completed, a detailed drawing of the structure was presented. The WTS developed was used in Jiangsu Su Pu (group) Co. Ltd., the manufacturing, installation and testing were completed. All those index values reached the required level.
