Hydroxyl-containing natural animal and vegetable oils, synthetic oils and their modifier through esterification reaction with maleic anhydride got mono-maleate, mono-maleate and Sodium Sulfite through sulfonation reaction got sulfosuccinate fatliquor. As the preparation technology of such fatliquor materials is a typical clean production technology, this subject has drawn considerable attentions in the past few years.This paper mainly consists of three parts.①Studyed on the effect of moisture in oil materials on mono-esterification reaction, sulfonation reaction and product properties about preparing of sulfosuccinate fatliquor. The results show when n(hydroxyl) : n(maleic anhydride) : n(Anhydrous Sodium Sulfite)=1:1:1, as w(H2O) varies from 0.25% to 3%, mono-esterification ratio of maleic anhydride fall from 95.07% to 58.44% , the pH of S-SCF fall from 4.8 to 4.1 and the sediment volume fraction of w(S-SCF)=10% water emulsion after centrifugation raise from 0.9% to 3.7%. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the moisture in oil materials and control w(H2O) less than 0.25% by pretreatment.②With Span-60 as the starting material,through esterification and sulfonation reaction , obtained S-SCF Fatliquor. Using single factor experiment method, through testing the acid value to track the esterification reaction, the influences of molar ratio between hydroxyl and maleic anhydride, time and temperature were studied and through iodometric method to track the sulfonation reaction, the influences of molar ratio between maleic anhydride and Anhydrous Sodium Sulfite, time and temperature were studied. The characteristics of the intermediate and S-SCF were determined by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR).Studied the stability and fatliquoring performance of S-SCF. The results show that the optimum reaction conditions were n(hydroxyl) : n(maleic anhydride) = 1 : 1.05, esterification temperature 90℃, esterification time 4h, n(maleic anhydride) : n(Anhydrous Sodium Sulfite) = 1 : 1.05, sulfonation temperature 80℃, sulphonation time 2.5h.The Salient features of S-SCF is its filling capacity.③Mixed Span-60, Amidation palm oil, Castor oil and Peregal O-25 together as the starting materials,through esterification and sulfonation reaction , obtained M-SCF Fatliquor. In order to improve compatibility and stability,Added dispersant No. 10 white oil, sulfonated oil SS-1, non-ionic oil NIFE-2B during the preparation. The synthesis reaction conditions of S-SCF applied to M-SCF and proved feasible. Through the orthogonal experiment, identified a better use of various materials. Formula of starting material(Amidation palm oil 50g, Span-60 20g, Castor oil 20g, Peregal O-25 10g), No. 10 white oil 40% of the total mass of Hydroxyl-containing raw materials, SS-1 30% of the total mass of Hydroxyl-containing raw materials, NIFE-2B 30% of the total mass of Hydroxyl-containing raw materials. The emulsion stability and storage stability were good.Fatliquoring leather was strong resistance to yellowing. M-SCF adapted for wet-blue leather of sheep. The fatliquoring leather is soft, full and elastic.The filling capacity is appopriate. M-SCF is supeior to Hua Sheng Yi Hao. By orthogonal experiments explored the application of M-SCF in chrome-free tanned leather and the result show that it was apt for this field.
