The foreign Company proposed the Subsea Mudlift Drilling(SMD) system replacing the traditional drilling technology to overcome the problems encountered in the process of deepwater drilling. The present paper is sponsored by"Development of large scale oil&gas field and coalbed gas"National science and technology major special project (2008ZX05026-01), research was carried on the design of subsea mudlift testing system and special technology research.Theoretical analysed for the subsea mudlift system works and functions, and structural design of trsting rig, drawing two-dimensional floor plan and three-dimensional model. Purchase of laboratory equipment and began to build SMD testing rig. Work through the testing system, to get a series of operational data in the control system, analysis and evaluation testing data for a variety of different media conditions. Studid for the stability of system performance and operational status,analysis of experimental data, study and improve the program, ultimately, concluded the SMD testing system research report.Analyzed for the main factors resulting in the"U-Tube"effect in the SMD, and a drilling string value is designed for eliminating"U-Tube"effect. Drilling string value in the process of drilling wells is one of the facilities, the main role is to prevent the drilling fluids and ground from the way back to the centre of the drilling string. The paper focuses on a drilling string value designing and computation process, this designing work out the mud erosion problems in the mudlift system, and it makes the draining problems tend to have more facility operation and security.
