Marine natural gas hydrate is rich in resources,is an important direction for future energy exploration.Most natural gas hydrate of China is stored in shallow geological blocks under the deep water of the South China Sea.Natural gas hydrate drilling is facing many risks,in addition to face the conventional deep-water drilling problems,such as shallow pressure window or geological hazards,but also need to face gas hydrate decomposition,natural gas hydrate secondary generation during the process of drilling.How to drill safely and efficiently is a problem should to be solved urgently in the commercial development of natural gas hydrate.Subsea mudlift drilling is a viable solution for deepwater natural gas hydrate drilling,and the subsea pump module is one of the key equipment to determine the performance of the system.The paper designs and configures the subsea pump module of SMD system for deepwater natural gas hydrate drilling based on the comprehensive analysis of deep water drilling and natural gas hydrate.This paper analyzes the difficulties of deepwater natural gas hydrate drilling and the characteristics of SMD system,and systematically studies the working environment and technical parameters of the subsea pump module.On this basis,to complete the selection of pump and power.According to the calculation results of the hydraulic parameters of the system,the relevant technical parameters and equipment model of the subsea pump module are determined,and the core scheme design of the subsea pump module is completed.The installation of the subsea pump module is determined,which ensures both the strength of the mud return line and the quickness of the installation process.According to the installation requirements of the subsea pump module,the upper and lower docking joint design is carried out.Then the strength of the subsea pump module is checked by ANSYS.The subsea pump module structure is designed to realize the installation of the pump and motor,to meet the strength requirements during working.The paper propose a well control scheme for using SMD based on the analysis of conventional deepwater drilling well control and SMD well control.The state of the hydrate in the mud return line is determined by analyzing the temperature and pressure model.According to the state of the hydrate to identify the capacity of subsea pump module to handle the kick.Completing the subsea pump module control system on the basis of indoor experimental platform.Configuring the electronic control equipments for the subsea pump module and designing the underwater distribution system for the power and communications distribution.Designing a quick connector that operated by remote operated vehicle to connect the suction module and the subsea pump module.
