Abrasive Flow Polishing (AFP) is a new finishing time processing method. AFP utilizes the flow characteristics of abrasive to process the workpieces with complex shape and spatial structure. AFP can also process metal and non-metallic materials, and can achieve good machining results. The main contribution of this thesis is as follows:First of all, the thesis analyzes the abrasive media's local pressure drop and pressure drop. By analyzing the viscous fluid velocity distribution of the laminar viscous fluid movement in the pipe, the thesis presents the cutting edge model of abrasive particles, the force of abrasive model, and its effect on processing. The cutting edge model of the abrasive particle is given out. Based on this model, the performance improvement on the workpieces by the plastic deformation and elastic deformation of the workpieces is analyzed, and the generation of the cutting chip and the force model are analyzed.According to the mechanism of abrasive flow polishing, based on the actual use requirement, the thesis configures a polishing abrasive media, including silicone rubber as the carrier of abrasive, silicone oil as the lubricant, and silicon carbide as the abrasive particles. Finally, the effect of the abrasive flow polishing parameters is analyzed by considering the cutting chip and model.Considering all the factors, the thesis designs an AFP machine. Based on the overall design, the thesis concentrates on the detailed design of the AFP machine hydraulic system, including: according to the determined AFP machine system parameters, the polishing machine's kinematics and dynamic analysis are performed. The main parameters of the hydraulic system are calculated and the form of a hydraulic system is determined. The pusher cylinder and clamping force conditions are calculated. The basic scheme of the hydraulic system is designed and the hydraulic system diagram is drawn. The hydraulic system components and auxiliary systems are calculated and checked.The hydraulic system simulation model is analyzed briefly. AMESim software is utilized to construct the simulation model of the AFP machine and perform the corresponding test. According to the characteristics of the hydraulic system components, the sub-models and parameters are determined. Comparison of the clamping device open-loop control and PID control demonstrates that the open-loop system can not meet the design requirements of the system, and the PID control system should be selected.
