In this paper, the liquid-solid mixing drilling fluid tanks in closed process for long-distance transport, there may arise the problem of solid particles precipitated conducted experiments and CFD simulation.Agitator widely used in chemical and environmental engineering field, but relatively few studies on the flow characteristics of the working fluid within the agitator and mixing effect. Based on the principles of fluid dynamics similarity, we developed an experimental device of small size, and. based on the drilling fluid flow characteristics within the agitator and mixing effects were observed and analyzed to study the liquid-solid two-phase fluid in the tank morphological changes in the fluid during transport, as well as two-phase flow in the agitator and gravitational field together, solid particle trajectory. And as a model, using commercial software FLUENT numerical simulation results show that the numerical results of the pre-qualitative agreement with the experimental observations. In order to ensure drilling fluid will not appear at the bottom of the precipitation and achieved good mixing effect, in full consideration of the structural strength of the blades premise, we use CFD simulation method, the size and geometry of the blade optimized design, and give a preferred form of blade, and a fluid outlet opening position gives recommendations.
