The 1880 Hot strip Mill plant of BAOSTEEL is "Eleven one fivePlan" project, a newer production line of 21 century. It's built and operated in 2007.Firstly, the application of the PWM control system in the main mill is studied. IEGT power components of the PWM control system are proposed. The motor control system are constructed by TMDrive-70 gear-driven. IEGT components are controled by the three-level cross orthogonal frequency PWM control system. The rotor excitation of SCR components are supplied power by the rectifier by TMDrive-70, and controlled by Inverter control system. This equipment has been put into production, and operated well.Secondly, the main hot-rolled 1880 for Baoshan Iron and Steel Mill Drive TMDRIVE-70 drive system are debugged. Based on the motor debugging process, the debug of PWM synchronous motor system is studied. The method of debug processing is stated in detail, which satisfied the static and dynamic requirements.Finally, the positioning of the rotor synchronous motor is studied. The new positioning method is proposed. This method has realized the position continuously, and save debugging time greatly.The research paper is also useful and significant use for reference in the similar equipment line about drive system revamping and function optimization.
