Amorphophallus albus is a new species that is discovered and named by Liu Peiying and Chen Jinfeng in 1984, and is now also cultivated in China on a large scale for economic purposes. This species is peculiar to our country, and its natural distribution region is Jinshajiang Stream Valley Zone, mainly concentrated in the south of Sichun Province and the north of Yunan Province. A. albus is the best species of Amorphophallus species containing KGM, and its KGM content is the highest, up to over 60%. Its viscidity is also the highest, and browing lighter. The color and luster of its processed goods is purely white, and the quality is the best. So both the commodity rate and commodity value of A.albus are very high. By investigating the main producing area of A. albus in our country, it is found that the enthusiasms of A. albus production in all parts are very high. But along with the continuous increase of planting areas, some problems have arisen, including the ratio of tuber decreasing, that of rhizome increasing, and total output decreasing. And at the same time, the introduction perplexes farmers. The same A. albus resource grows well and brings considerable economic benefit in that place, but when it is introduced to other places, it doesn't adapt itself to the new environment. This kind of improper introduction brings great economic loss to farmers. In this view, comprehensive understanding of A. albus resources not only can provide guides for introduction, but also can establish foundations for selecting and breeding to some extent, and also can analyze genetic relationship of A. albus among species. This experiment studies on 34 series A. albus resources. The main conclusions as follows:1. The petiole character of 34 series A. albus is summed up, and it is divided into seven classes: Class a is green background color with white dots, Class b green with black spots, Class c pure green, Class d green with black spots and white dots, Class e pink with white dots, Class f pink with black spots, and Class g pink with white dots and black spots.2. The ingredients in RAPD reaction system such as Taq polymerase, Mg2+, primer, gDNA, dNTP are optimized by different dosages by using orthogonalty design L1645. Optimal reactionsystem of the RAPD is settled. The total volume is 25μl, containing 2.5μl Buffer(10×), 0.25μl Taqpolymerase(5U), 1.8μl Mg2+(25mM), 1μl primer (10pM), 1μl gDNA (40ng), 0.6μl dNTP(10mM), and pure water 17.85μl.
