Comparedwith the l8~35 years, defecation of the over 50 years is less likelyto be once a day, but liable to be less or more than once a day. Which manifests as symptoms ofdyspepsia and abnormal defecation. So we should pay moreatteniion to the middle-aged and the elderly's health care of4Gastroenteric function. Also else diseases bring influence tofunction of alimentary tr8ct.Analyse also shows that rate of spleen-stomach excess boe, suchas disharmony betWeen liver and stomach, and qi stagnation of liverand intestine tends to decreas with aging. But rate of spleen-stomachdeficiency tyPe such as qi deficiency of spleen-stomach andconstipation caused by qi deficiency inclines to increase.Frequencies of loose stools due to those of the 36~50 years and theover 50 years increase notably than those of the group of l8~35years. Syndrome of blenging of deficiency and excess tends toincrease for example, liver-qi stagnation and spleen deficiency ordecrease for example, dishannony between the liver and spleen withaging. This shows that deficiency of spleen-stomach is imPortanphase of visceral organs deficiency in aging process and thatinvigorating the spleen-stomach is important measure of health careand anti-aging of the middle-aged and the elderly.
