IUD is the most widely used intrauterine device for women of childbearing age. But it can cause side reactions such as hyper-memorrhea and memostaxis, etc. which is also known as "uterus-device-caused hemorrhage" To study the mechanism of liver-dredging and stasis-dispersing (LDSD) method to this syndrome and the theoretical essence of "stasis blocking the uterus and blood failing to stay in its vessels" in TCM, we made a Cu-IUD-wearing rabbit model and observed the effect of Gonghuan zhixue Tablets on the rabbit's endometrial morphology and the local biochemical substances in uterus. The results are:1. LDSD method can decrease inflammatory cells and exudation, improve congestion, edema and promote endometrium restoration.2. LDSD can decrease the content of prostacycline (PGI2), raise thromorance A2 and balance PGL: and TXA2.3. LDSD method can decrease the content of tissue Plasminogen activator(t-PA).4. LDSD can decrease the activity of NO and NOS.The above results indicate that (1) regulating the local content ofbiochemical substances in uterus, improving the pathologic condition of the endometrium and promoting its restoration tend to be the hemostatic mechanism of LDSD method t; (2) 1UD can cause local germfree inflammation, blood circulating obstacle, higher ratio between PG^ and TXA2 and increased t-PA content, which might be the explanation of themodern theoretical connotation of TCM-stasis blocking the uterus andblood failing to stay in its vessels.
