Study On The Medicinal Materials Variety And Quantity Needed In The Medical Support To Flood-fighting Troops

In peacetime, rushing to deal with the disaster is one of the important missions of the government and the army in every country. Almost every year, there are floods or waterlog in our country, and the PLA often fights the disasters. In that time, the medical support is very important to protect the soldiers' health, and enough timely fit medicinal materials are absolutely necessary. But now, we haven't enough information about the medicinal materials needed and there are some significant problems in medical supply.This study is one part of the thesis "The study on the medical support pattern and the medicinal materials needed in the disaster succor ". We analyzed amount of historical sources and the data gained by look-back inquiry in the soldiers having enjoined in the flood-fight in 1998, to post the features and laws of the medical support, diseases occurrence and the medicinal materials expend. On these bases, we selected the variety of the medicinal materials, and probed into the most reasonable means to calculate the quantity, and constituted the medical supply standard.The results suggested: (1)The infectious diseases were spread mainly by the water in the flood-fight. (2)The high-prevalence-rate diseases were rheum, skin diseases, non-infectious diarrhea and trauma. And in the tropic area, heatstroke and conjunctivitis had higher prevalence rate than normal. (3)The time-distribution of diseases in the south was similar to the north's. The distributing curve ascended sharp and descended slowly. (4)The first 10 days of flood-fighting was the fastigium of diseases occurrence. More than 50% diseases appeared in this time. (5)The drugs for epidemic prevention and high-prevalence-rate diseases cure and easy-expending medicinal materials had big wastage, and the others expended little. (6)Most of the drugs were taken orally or for external use. In addition, based on the medicinal materials expending data and diseases occurrence law, we selected different way to calculate the demand of different kinds of medicinal materials and constituted the medical supply standard for the medical support to the flood-fighting troops.According to the results, we discussed and put forward some advice on diseases prevention, medical supply and medical support.
