Objective: Provide theoretical basis for the treatment of chronic prostatitis (CP) by activating blood removing stasis through widely collecting past and present medicine reference material and reveal the mechanism through the clinical and experimental researches, so guide the medicine in clinic.Material and method: In clinic we chosed the patients of CP and treated them with Nanmiqing (NMQ) and Qianliekang. In experimental research we used Xiaozhiling to make the rat model of chronic prostatitis and divided 60 SD male rats randomly into 6 groups: NMQ of senior dose (group A), NMQ of medium dose (group B), NMQ of minor dose (group C), Qianliekang group (group D), model group (group E), and normal group (group F). In the rats' blood we tested the level of ET-1 , TXB2, 6-keto-PGF1, and reviewed the change of their prostatical pathological tissue.Result: In the clinical research the curative effect of NMQ was more advantageous than Qianliekang. In the experimental research NMQ of group A and B could reduce the abnormally high level of ET-K TXB2 and TXB2/6-k-PGF1 (T/K), and p<0.01 compared with group D. The level of every index had no obviously difference in the rats of group C and D. the level of6-keto-PGF1 in the rats of group A, B, C and D was not obviously affected. Conclusion: blood stasis was a kind of important pathogenesis of CP, and activating blood removing stasis was a kind of important treatment to cure CP.
