Clinical Observation Of Therapeutic Effect Of Psychotherapy On Chronic Hepatitis B With The TCM Syndrome Of Stagnation Of The Liver-Qi And Deficiency Of The Spleen

Objective: To explore the therapeutic effect of psychotherapy on rehabilitation of chronic hepatitis B, learn about the psychological states of patients with chronic hepatitis B, and provide clinic basis for therapey of CHB. Methods: 80 cases of chronic hepatitis B with the TCM syndrome of Stagnation of the liver-Qi and Deficiency of the Spleen were randomly divided into 2 groups, 40 cases treated with xiao yao decoction (XYD) and controlled with 40 Cases treated by XYD plus psychotherapy. The psychological factors of patients were tested by SDS and SAS. Meannhile, Liver function, T-cell subsets, Syndroms of TCM were compared before and after treatment. Results: It is informed from the SDS and SAS questionnair that there were 38 cases having depressive mood, and 36 cases having anxious mood. Compared with the controls, Psychotherapy was able to improve the liver function and immunocompetence. The difference was significant (P<0.05). The SAS and SDS scores of the psychotherapy group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusions: Patients with chronic hepatitis B have psychosocial Problems distinctly. The psychotherapy has a significant effect on chronic hepatictis B.Pysicians should strengthen psychotherapy when drug is used.
