Chemical Studies On Bulbophyllum Kwangtungense Schlecht

Bulbophyllum kwangtungense Schlecht.is a Chinese medicinal herb widely used in south China.This medicinal herb can act as alternative therapy for some kinds of disease.It is found that this herb can be used in some cancer cases rescently.We inspected the history of medical usage of Bulbophyllum kwangtungense Schlecht. We investigated the antitumor activity of four different extract of bulbophyllum kwangtungense to find out which part has the best effect. Hela cell was treated with four extract at different concentration.The effect were observed by MTT.We found that the extract of YSDL and ZSDL have the best effect.Under the guidence of antitumor research in Vitro we investigated the chemical components of bulbophyllum kwangtungense systematically mainly using classical chromatography and other advanced means of chemical isolation such as using of RP8,RP18 and HPLC.The techniques of IR,UV,NMR,HMBC,HMQC and MS were employed to elucidate the structure of compounds isolated from bulbophyllum kwangtungense.Seventeen pure compounds were isolated in this work.Among them eleven compounds were identified ,their structure elucidated.Two novel bibenzyl were isolated,structures of which were proved to be 2-hydrosy-6-methoxy-3,4,2',3'-dimethylenedioxy-bibenzyl and 3'-hydroxy-5-methoxy-3,4-methyIenedioxy-bibenzyl.
