Due to the particular geographical environment and climate condition of Guizhou province, the local people invented many ethno-prescriptions for the treatment of diseases. In this thesis, we studied one ethno-medicine, Lepidogrammitis drymoglossoide. The purpose of this thesis was to carry on a systematic study on the chemical compositions from L. drymoglossoide, a traditional Chinese medicinal plant, and the bioactivities of some isolated compounds.During the studies for the chemical constituents from L. drymoglossoide, a series of modern separation and purification methods were involved include column chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, RP-18, Semi-prep HPLC and other separation methods respectively. As a result,22 compounds were obtained from the 75% ethanol extracts of L. drymoglossoide. On the basis of their physical constants, spectroscopic data and modern analytic techniques, the structures of 16 compounds were identified as diplopterol (LZF-01), physcion (LZF-02), atraric acid (LZF-03), n-hexadecanoic acid (LZF-04),β-sitosterol (LZF-05), aurantiamide acetate (LZF-06), ponasteroside A (LZF-11), daucesterol (LZF-12),4-hydroxybenzoic acid (LZF-14), 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic formaldehyde (LZF-15), esculetin (LZF-16), 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic methyl (LZF-17), caffeic acid (LZF-18), 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (LZF-19), lepidogrammitisterosideA (LZF-21), (+)-pinoresinol di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (LZF-23)。All compounds were isolated from this genus for the first time and (LZF-21) was identified as a new compound.Furthermore, the volatile oil of L. drymoglossoide was studied by steam distillation. The components of volatile oil from L. drymoglossoide were analysed by using GC-MS technique.81 compounds were identified from the volatile oil of dry L. drymoglossoide. In addition, some compounds isolated from this plant were tested for their anti-tumor and anti-TB activities. Meanwhile, volatile oils of L. drymoglossoide was studied for its antibacterial activity.
